Sami Viollet had 2 passions: Mountains and Physics

He passed away too soon on February, 2nd 2025.                      

Though so young he left us quite a legacy.                                    

This site is dedicated to him through his 2 passions.

Sami was born in Grenoble (France) on January 9th, 1997.            

He spent his first childhood, with his elder brother  and his twin sisters, in Saint Pancrasse,                                             

just below the Dent de Crolles in the Massif of Chartreuse,  not far from a climbing school,                                                           

and the paragliding take-off of Saint Hilaire du Touvet.                

He also spent many of his holidays   in Les Contamines Montjoie,                                                

close to the Mont Blanc.                                                                           

His mother is an electronics engineer  and a management consultant,                                                                 

and his father a Mountain Guide   and a paragliding instructor.                                                                       

He studied at Lycée Berthollet in Annecy for his scientific preparatory classes.                                                       

He entered the Ecole Normale Supérieure   of Paris-Saclay in 2017                                                                              

where he obtained the Agrégation of Physics in 2020.                          

He joined the University of Luminy in Marseille  to complete a Master degree in theoretical physics                           

followed by a Phd he obtained on December 10th, 2024.                     

During all this time he never stopped  skiing, hiking, climbing, paragliding.
