Sami VIOLLET

Sami Viollet had 2 passions: Mountains and Physics.  He passed away too soon on February, 2nd 2025. Though so young he left us quite a legacy.

This site is dedicated to him through his 2 passions.

 

Sami was born in Grenoble (France) on January 9th, 1997. He spent his first childhood in Saint Pancrasse , just below the Dent de Crolles in the Massif of Chartreuse, not far from a climbing school, and the paragliding take-off of Saint Hillaire du Touvet. His mother is an electronics engineer and his father a Mountain Guide and a paragliding instructor. 

He studied at Lycée Berthollet for his scientific preparatory classes. He entered the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris-Saclay where he obtained the Agrégation of Physics. He joined the University of Luminy in Marseille to complete a Master degree in theoretical physics followed by a Phd he obtained on December 10th, 2024.

During all this time he never stopped skiing, hiking, climbing.
